Professor Akira Ueno 上野晃 was a renowned music critic who contributed numerous music reviews to major music journals including "Musical Art" and served as an executive member of the Arts Festival of the Agency for Cultural Affairs. In particular, his relationship with the Kyushu & Okinawa Composers Association 九州・沖縄作曲家協会 spanned many years, during which he participated in our Spring and Autumn Music Exhibitions and generously provided comments and criticism on our works. Moreover, he regularly introduced our activities in the music journals where his work appeared, and was instrumental in bringing recognition to the Kyushu & Okinawa Composers Association throughout Japan. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for his years of service and humbly pray for his eternal rest.
