Membership

  • Types of Members
    The Kyushu Composers Association has the following membership categories:
    1. Members: Composers who reside or were born in Kyushu, and those who support the aims of the association
    2. Student Members: Students who reside or were born in Kyushu and support the aims of the association
    3. Honorary Members: Former chairpersons who have contributed to the development of the association over many years
    4. Supporting Members: Individuals or organizations who support the aims of the association
  • Membership Eligibility
    To become a regular member, applicants must have a prior history of composition and obtain recommendations from two current members. To become a student member, applicants must be currently studying composition and obtain recommendations from two current members. After submitting an application to the secretariat, membership becomes official upon approval at the general assembly, which is held in March and September as a rule.
  • Membership Fees (As of April 2022)
    • Regular Members
      Entrance fee: ¥5,000
      Annual fee: ¥12,000
    • Student Members
      Entrance fee: None
      Annual fee: ¥5,000
    • Supporting Members
      Entrance fee: None
      Annual fee: Organizations or individuals - ¥10,000 per unit
          Individual supporters - ¥3,000
  • Member Benefits
    Members are eligible to participate in various activities, including sponsored events such as the Kyushu Contemporary Music Festival and Kyushu Composers Association Spring Concert, as well as international exchange programs such as the Yeongnam International Contemporary Music Festival (Korea) and the East Asia International Contemporary Music Festival (Japan, China, Korea).
    Members may attend association-sponsored events with their membership card.
    Members receive the association newsletter and the journal "Journal," and may also contribute articles to the newsletter and have their activities listed.
  • Supporting Member Benefits
    Supporting members receive invitations to association-sponsored events, the newsletter and the journal "Journal." Organization members will have their organization name listed in the programs of association-sponsored events.
